QuatroPlating™ — Our Four-Layer Gold Finish
What is QuatroPlating?
Most gold-plated jewelry is a single thin layer of gold over a base metal. Ours is four layers: palladium, 22k gold, 18k gold, and a nano protective seal, over fine bronze or sterling silver. We call it QuatroPlating™.

Two things worry people about gold-plated jewelry: whether the gold will come off or tarnish, and whether it will look like real gold rather than a dark, brassy imitation. QuatroPlating™ answers both.
Will my gold plating come off or tarnish?
The palladium grips the gold far more strongly than bronze would on its own, the 22k layer is laid on thick and hardened to take the wear, and the nano layer seals the surface. Every layer above the base is a noble metal, so there is nothing in the finish that tarnishes the way brass, bronze or sterling silver does.
Love it and wear it the way we hope you will. Life will happen and your favorite jewelry will pick up a few marks. Scratches, a little dullness — that's a well-loved piece, not a faulty one. First try our care guide and cleaning guide. Whenever you want it looking new again, our Revive Service deep cleans, polishes and re-plates it.
Will it look like real gold?
It is gold. The 18k blended over the 22k is what gives it the buttery Turkish gold color our customers come back for — not the dark, brassy tone of a thin single plate. It is also why our pieces sit naturally alongside solid 14k and 18k gold rather than looking out of place next to them.
What each layer does
- Palladium — a barrier between the base metal and the gold. It grips gold far more strongly than bronze does on its own, which is where much of the durability comes from. It also means every layer above the base is a noble metal.
- 22k gold — laid on thick and hardened. This is the layer built to last.
- 18k gold — blended down over the 22k. This is where the buttery Turkish gold color comes from.
- Nano protective layer — a final seal over the gold that takes the day-to-day contact.

How long will it last?
That depends on how often you wear it, your skin chemistry, and contact with water, perfume and lotion. Treat it as you would solid gold and it holds its color for years. Our care guide has the full routine.
